Officials from Los Angeles County, particularly Michael Antonovich, have been trying to shut down the pile for a while. It would have been advantageous for Tim for your show to have mentioned this problem, a problem which has been going on for at least several years and one which threatens the pile's existence. It would be great to have informed the public about this problem in such a widely-viewed and well regarded outlet such as yours.
